THE 100th BIG DAY OUT

18 years on from when it first started with a bang back in 1992, Australia's internationally renowned music festival – the BIG DAY OUT – hit an incredible milestone on Saturday: 100 shows. Both shows over the weekend were nothing short of amazing regardless of the insane weather conditions it was epic. I have been to about 10 BDO's over the years & the memories seem to have all blended into one but i am sure I will remember this weekend for ever. Dizzee Rascal was the stand out & he blew me away both days.

BONKERS LIVE

Hilltop Hoods always kill it live & this weekend was no exception. They have come back strongly into my play list with State of The Art after letting everyone down with The Hard Road & they rocked the main stage with the swagger of the bosses they are.

Muse headlined The party & have a new fan after impressing the shit out of me. I never knew anything about them until Friday but they are super tight & put on one hell of a show. Also their lazers rule.

53,000 Where there on Saturday to celerbrate the epic achievement with a spectacular fireworks and fire cannon finale. Massive ups to Viv, Ken & the amazing Sahara for this huge milestone & for putting on the biggest party in Australia. We love you.

WU-TANG VS THE BEATLES

Enter the magical mystery chambers. There seems to be a few of these type of mixes going down these days, maybe too many. Pffft no I take that back! I was wro.. wr… wrnnnn… less right than ususal, there is always room for one more Wu-Tang mash up. ALWAYS. Anyways I have just got home from another gnarly day & this mix has set the vibe to perfect. Tom Caruana blends together classic Wu Tang acapellas with samples pulled from The Beatles.

In other news; my free time (in which I usually bother with this thing) is being sucked up by a career opportunity so you 3 weirdo's who read this will have to bear with me for a while.

OFF SEASON ACTION

One of the things that most fans don't know about us cage fighting superstars, is that we like to meet in the off season & watch short films on my immense LCD. Here are a couple of recent favorites.
This first short film, The Third and The Seventh by Alex Roman is a FULL-CG animated piece that looks at architecture & already-built spaces across a photographic point of view. I can not understand how how the images in this film aren't real, very impressive.

Photographer and videographer, 13th Witness, has made this 2 minute video offering an insight into the technique and raw skill of artist Futura. Check out more awesome short videos like this from 13th Witness HERE.
