JR is an anonymous photographer and artist. In his work, he embeds into neighborhoods, favelas and villages around the world, photographing the people who live there and learning their stories — and then pasting his striking images onto massive local canvases: buildings, buses, roads and bridges. A very fitting recipient indeed.
Kanye West brings his vision to life in his highly-anticipated short film Runaway. The 35-minute visuals were directed by West, written by Hype Williams, and art directed by Vanessa Beecroft. Filmed in Prague, the soundtrack features songs from the rapper’s fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, including “Devil in a New Dress,” “POWER,” “All of the Lights” with Rihanna, “Lost in the World,” and the title track “Runaway.”
Described as “a tale of loss and renewal,” the ambitious story stars Kanye as Griffin and supermodel Selita Ebanks as The Phoenix, who crashes down to Earth and falls in love with her rescuer. Nicki Minaj narrates the beginning of the film in her British accent.
Truly epic is how I describe Neate's work. Neate is at the cutting edge of pure and raw emotional contemporary figurative work, and this is Neate at his finest to date.

The second instalment of Pastemodernism is tomorrow (Thursday) & features a massive list of local and international paste-up artists who have transformed the excellent Lo-Fi collective into something that is normally only ever seen on the streets. From haind painted colour to black and white photocopies, from screenprints to large scale drawings - the only restriction is that the work must be on paper and must be able to be wheat-pasted to the walls of the gallery. Lo-Fi Collective, 383 Bourke St, Darlinghurst, Sydney. (above Kinsellas on Taylor Square). Check the article about Paste Modernism part 1 here & just think bigger & better.
360 got this popping off last week from what looks like his underground, Josef Fritzl style bunker. Its a great idea & Urthy & Strut have been quick to respond. Lets see where this will end up.
