So i managed to sneak my camera into the venue, managed to hustle myself backstage, managed to get to the side of the stage, then my camera managed to start acting like the moody asshole it is & only record half of what i filmed. Arrgh I was on stage with wu-tang & my camera fucks up. So cruel. Anywho this is some of what was on my camera when i woke up. might post more later but then again its saturday & i need to swin off the hangover & meet some fine people at a German beer establishment in the Rocks to eat schnitzel & drink steins. Life rulz.

DIGGING CLEMENS AT THE MINUTE

Stumbling across Clemens site is like putting on a jacket you have not worn in weeks & re-finding that mega babes number that you have been cursing yourself for loosing. I have never claimed to be the gatekeeper of all things cool & interesting but my lack of Clemens knowledge reaffirms this in a massive way. Why the fuck have i never known about this turbo radness?
Anywho from what i can gather Clemens lives in Barcelona & makes head spinning installations from garbage bags, cardboard boxes, paint, tape & other found objects & beautiful stop motion films of his projects. He is killing it without sending any condolences.

WU-TANG: ENTER THE DUBSTEP

So its just after 11pm & after a serious dose of WD40 my cylinders are slowly groaning back to life. Yes i spent most of my monday as predicted being lifeless & pained, loosing hours in the Bermuda triangle that is Youtube & casually snacking on gourmet lamb sausages (no homo). However this all took a drastic turn this evening as I dusted off my monocle & attended the final debate of the intelligence squared series which without doubt increased my IQ by 30 & was the cultural toaster in the copper bath that i badly needed to dust off the weekends cobwebs get this week going.

DESTINO - SALVADOR DALI & WALT DISNEY COLLABORATION

In 1946, surrealist Salvador Dali formed an unlikely friendship with Walt Disney and they spent a short time collaborating on a short film called Destino. Unfortunately, only 18 seconds of Destino were ever shot, but in 1999, Roy Disney reconstructed the entire short using computer rendering and hand-drawn imagery based on the original sketches and storyboards. I had no idea these two ever worked together until i saw the film last month at the Dali show in Melbourne. What a dope collaboration.

The wonderful Melinda Vassallo has put together; Street Art of Sydney’s Inner West, a pictorial reference book celebrating 30 years of street art and the people behind it. This book holds cultural and social significance to an area gradually being "cleaned up" & is a great reference to Sydney's place the biggest art movement ever. Even a few of us from the MOVEMENT crew including my self are featured throughout the book. Melinda is launching her book this WEDNESDAY October 14, 2009 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.
