TEAZER SOLO SHOW - AVANT GARDE

Sydney artist Teazer grew up around the eastern suburbs and inner city & has been writing since 1989. Influenced by what he saw in Bondi and images from the New York subway art that had just started at the time his own art started on a journey that has since developed into its own super tight style, with sharp aggressive letters & cartoon perfect characters his work always makes a statement of its own.
On Thurs 29th October Oh Really Gallery, 55 Enmore Road Newtown, is hosting his solo show Avant Garde. Its adult contemporary for good people from 6 - 9pm.

THE MOVEMENT & ANDRE SARAIVE FOR BELVEDERE IX

One of my favourite street artists Mr. A now has his own vodka; Belvedere IX or maybe its Belvederes new vodka that for some reason has let Andre draw on its bottles . . . Whatever the score they had a kick ass party at the ivy where we sampled the new product until the place was dry & we were waist deep diamontes. They also asked THE MOVEMENT to theme the place out. Unfortunately i only managed to get a few photos dude to the relentless taste testing but check it anyway.

THE RZA - THE TAO OF WU

The RZA, the Abbot of the Wu-Tang Clan and hip-hop culture’s most dynamic genius, imparts the lessons he’s learned on the journey that’s taken him from the Staten Island projects to international superstar, all along the way a devout student of knowledge in every form he’s found it—on the streets, in religion, in martial arts, in chess, in popular culture. Part chronicle of an extraordinary life and part spiritual and philosophical discourse, The Tao of Wu is a nonfiction Siddhartha for the hip-hop generation —an engaging, seeking book that will enlighten, entertain, and inspire.

The legions of Wu-Tang fans are accustomed to this heady mix—their obsession with the band’s puzzlelike lyrics and elaborate mythology has propelled the group through fifteen years of dazzling, multiplatform success. In his 2005 bestseller The Wu-Tang Manual, the RZA provided the barest glimpse of how that mythology worked. In The Tao of Wu, he takes us deep inside the complex sense of wisdom and spirituality that has been at the core of his commercial and creative success. The book hits stores October 15, 2009 and will be available nationwide and online.
